Dental work and expressing anal glands are not performed under any circumstances. Scraping of plaque and tartar is not permitted in Ontario except by a qualified Veterinarian. Expressing anal glands can result in complications, we recommend leaving this to a Veterinarian.
Special note on de-matting: If you know your dog is matted, please make us aware upon booking your appointment, as this process can be time consuming. In severely matted cases, with the customers consent, we may recommend shaving the dog instead of causing the dog unnecessary harm and stress.

Hydrobath is a combination bathtub and power bather that uses a specially designed recirculation pump. This pump produces a high volume mix of water and shampoo delivered powerfully enough to penetrate the thickest coats, yet gently enough to massage the skin. Regular bathing in the hydrobath removes dead skin cells and assists with the control of parasites, leaving your dog with improved skin, a healthier coat, aiding blood circulation, relieving tired muscles and leaving your pet feeling fresh and pampered.
HV drying is a high velocity air drying system. HV drying enables us to fully open up the coat and to blow out dead hair and dander from your dog’s undercoat while enhancing blood circulation. The removal of dander reduces airborne elements in the home that may cause allergies and helps to promote a better living environment for you and your pet. HV drying is extremely quick as opposed to conventional cage drying which can take hours and cause stress on your pet.
Our shampoo's are ph balanced, high protein shampoos that are natural and safe. We also offer soothing, medicated shampoos for dry, sensitive and irritated skin. Grand River Grooming only uses the very best products available for your pet. Please inform us if you have a specific preference or a Veterinarian prescribed shampoo.
Health check and initial assessment of your pet's coat is discussed prior to starting the grooming process. Afterwards, any concerns will be recorded and shared honestly with the owner.
