Our Policies...

1.  Our philosophy is built on a stress free grooming experience for your dog.  We pay special attention to older pets and pets with health issues.
-  Your pet’s safety and comfort are our first priority.
-  We will not perform any grooming procedure that causes pain or a level of stress that we think is excessive.  In some situations this can include nail trimming.
-  Senior pets will be groomed for cleanliness and comfort.

2.  You, the dog owner, will advise us of any medical, physical, or emotional issues, allergies, sensitivities, and pre-existing conditions.
-  These may include prior surgeries, injuries, hip or any joint issues, seizures, warts, moles, issues with teeth, ear infections or skin problems.

3.  If your dog has behaviour problems, please let us know.
-  Grand River Grooming reserves the right to muzzle your dog.
-  The dog owner will be held liable for any bites that require medical treatment and for any property damage caused by their pet.
-  All bites will be reported to the local authorities as required by law.
-  Grand River Grooming reserves the right to refuse service.

4.  Appointments
-  Your punctuality is what makes this service work for everyone.
-  You will be charged from the time the appointment starts until your appointment ends or when you pick-up your dog.
-  Please understand, if we have not seen you in at least one year this will result in being bumped off our client list to make room for others who are waiting for our services.

5.  Pricing varies for each dog and is determined by breed, size and condition of your pet.
-  Cost adds up for de-matting, de-shedding, hydro-clipping, excessive coat and flea treatments due to the additional time it takes.

6.  Matting
-  If your pet cannot be humanely de-matted, we may ask permission to clip the hair short and “start over”.  We will always ask for your permission.
-  Please keep in mind that a matted coat can cause numerous health conditions including itching, irritation and skin infections.  Removing a heavily matted coat includes the risk of nicks, cuts or abrasions due to warts, moles and skin folds trapped and hidden in the mats.  Heavy matting can also trap moisture near the dogs skin allowing fungus or bacteria to grow causing skin irritations that exist prior to the grooming process.  Grand River Grooming is not responsible for any pre-existing conditions due to a matted coat.
-  If you would like to reschedule your grooming appointment to allow you time to brush or comb out the excess matting, a $30.00 minimum groom fee will apply.

7.  Grand River Grooming will not groom dogs that are not up-to-date on their vaccinations.

8.  We require 24 hours notice to change or cancel an appointment.
-  We will contact you by phone, email or text message to remind you of your appointment.  We will ask you to reconfirm your appointment.
-  Failure to call 24 hours in advance may result in a 1 hr. charge that must be paid prior to your next grooming appointment.  Giving advance notice gives us the opportunity to fill your grooming slot and rearrange our schedule.
-  "No-Shows", failure to show up for your appointment without notice is limited to one time per year.  Please do not expect a call back after multiple no-shows.

9.  Payment
-  We accept cash, checks and email transfers.  Payment is due at the completion of the groom.
-  Checks can be made out to:  Grand River Grooming.
-  HST is included in our hourly rates.

10.  Photographs
-  We have your permission to post a picture of your pet on our Facebook page or website.

We require a signed Release Form from each owner.
